About the team and role as a Local Growth Officer Role:
Are you passionate about community development and youth engagement? We’re looking for a Local Growth Officer to help drive the expansion of Scouting opportunities in Buckinghamshire, supporting both new and existing sections.
As a Local Growth Officer, you will play a pivotal role in achieving the growth ambitions of Buckinghamshire's Scouts. Working closely with local volunteers, you’ll help to open new sections and collaborate with our Growth & Communities Team to ensure that Scouting thrives across the county.
This is an exciting opportunity to make a real impact in a county known for its investment, growth, and strong potential for success. You’ll be joining a team of enthusiastic and supportive volunteers who are dedicated to expanding Scouting opportunities for young people.
As the Local Growth Officer, Key Responsibilities:
- Support and work in partnership with lead volunteers within the County
- Open new Scouting provision and ensuring that Scouting is accessible to all
- Inspire and enable local Scouting volunteers to devise and apply
- To advise and support and encourage local Scouting volunteers
- Help identify, create, and design new tools and resources to support inclusive membership
Who we’re looking for as our Local Growth Officer:
- Ability to work effectively as part of a remote team.
- Excellent planning and organisational skills
- Confident public speaker and skilled at presenting ideas
- Experience of working with volunteer groups
- Experienced in community engagement
- Self-starter with the ability to work remotely.
