About The Role:
This is an exciting opportunity to lead our Financial Accounting, Payroll and Transactions teams, ensuring strong financial controls, compliance, statutory reporting, treasury management, and high-quality financial services across the organisation.
As the Financial Controller, you will (Key Responsibilities):
- Lead our financial accounting, payroll and transactions teams.
- Oversee day-to-day finance operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable and banking.
- Ensure accurate financial reporting and timely month-end processes.
- Manage the preparation of annual accounts and support the external audit process.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations, VAT and corporation tax requirements.
- Maintain strong financial controls and identify opportunities to improve processes and systems.
- Monitor cash flow, oversee treasury activities and support investment reporting.
- Partner with budget holders and senior leaders, providing financial guidance and support.
- Develop and motivate a high-performing finance team.
Who we’re looking for as our Financial Controller:
- A professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
- Strong experience in financial accounting, audit or financial control.
- Experience leading and developing teams.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
- Experience within the charity, not-for-profit or public sector is welcome but not essential.
