In line with the Exception Order to the Rehabilitation Act, for all roles which involve regulated activity and an Enhanced DBS check, applicants are required to declare both spent and unspent convictions. If the role requires a Basic DBS check applicants are required to declare unspent convictions. The Applicant pack will detail which DBS check is required for each role. Please see our Recruitment and Selection Policy.
We may on occasion consider internal applicants on a secondment basis for fixed term roles at The Scouts. This is where we appoint you for a fixed term role and keep your substantive post open for you to return to when your secondment is finished. We may have to back fill your substantive post on a fixed term basis until you return and this may leave teams short staffed, either for a short time while we recruit, or for a long time should we not recruit someone to back fill the role. Given this,
You are nearly complete with your application. But before you click submit, we just want make sure you understand our recruitment process and the next steps.
We aim to treat all current and prospective employees fairly and with dignity and respect, in accordance with our Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Policy. The Scouts Association consider candidates solely on merit and against role requirements and person specifications.
